Adding URL Whitelisting to a Mobile App

URL Whitelisting ensures that a mobile app connects only to the server URLs which you intended it to connect. Attacks like XcodeGhost can insert malware and adware into the app, and the app can send user data to undesired locations.

Appdome’s Mobile App Security Suite is a comprehensive, best practice mobile security feature set that can be added to any Android or iOS app in seconds, without coding.

This Knowledge Base article provides a survey of Appdome’s URL Whitelisting functionality, including instructions on how to integrate URL Whitelisting into any mobile app in minutes.

We hope you find it useful and enjoy using Appdome!

About URL Whitelisting

Appdome is a mobile integration platform as a service (iPaaS) that allows users to add a wide variety of features, SDKs and APIs to Android and iOS apps. Using a simple ‘click to add’ user interface, Appdome allows anyone to easily integrate URL Whitelisting to any mobile app – instantly, no code or coding required.

Using Appdome, there are no development or coding prerequisites. For example, there is no Appdome SDK, libraries, or plug-ins to implement. Likewise, when you add new security features using Appdome, you don’t need to modify source code, in fact, you don’t even need access to source code at all. When you click “Build My App”, the Appdome platform automatically adds URL Whitelisting and relevant standards, frameworks and more to the app, with no manual development work at all.

URL WHitelisting fusion configuration

The technology behind Build My App has two major elements – (1) a micro service architecture filled with 1000s of code sets needed for mobile integrations, and (2) an adaptive code generation engine that can recognize the development environment, frameworks and methods in each app and match the app to the relevant code-sets needed to add MicroVPN to the mobile app in seconds.

Congratulations! You now have a mobile app fully integrated with URL Whitelisting.
