Beta Android and iOS Testing and Release Program for Appdome Secured Apps
This Knowledge Base article summarizes the Appdome Beta Android and iOS Testing and Release Program.
We hope you find it useful and enjoy using Appdome!
Beta Android and iOS Release Calendar
Apple and Google release new versions of their operating systems to deliver new features for mobile end users. At Appdome, we want to ensure your mobile app security testing and security release processes for new operating systems are smooth and efficient.
In general, Apple and Google release new GA versions of new operating systems in calendar Q3 of each year. Beta versions are made available to developers beginning in Q2 of each year. Minor versions of mobile OSs are also released throughout the year. Appdome uses the same process for major and minor versions.
Appdome obtains the new beta versions of Android and iOS operating systems when the same are released to the OS vendor’s developer community. Appdome’s engineering and security research team reviews each beta version and begins testing each beta version to ensure compatibility with customer apps and use cases.
Appdome Mobile OS Beta Testing & Release Program
Appdome strives to be GA ready with all mobile app security and fraud detection features on the same day (T+0) as the GA date of each new operating system.
To ensure that all Appdome secured customer apps and use cases are tested, ready and compatible with each new mobile operating system, Appdome developed and released this Mobile OS Beta Testing & Release Program.
Starting with 2nd beta version (i.e., Beta 2) of each new beta version of Android and iOS, Appdome invites customers to participate in its innovation and release cycle for new Android and iOS versions by testing compatibility of the new beta version of Android and iOS with secured versions of customer apps based on each customer’s class of license and/or service contract (i.e. Appdome DEV PLUS / SRM or Appdome Ideal). All customers are encouraged to participate in compatibility testing starting with Beta 2. Appdome initially provides feedback to customer inquiries, followed by Beta and GA Codebases released by Appdome based on the schedule below:
Apple iOS* | Appdome Dev Plus / SRM | Appdome Dev | Appdome Ideal Partner | Appdome Ideal |
---|---|---|---|---|
Beta 1 | Feedback | |||
Beta 2 | Feedback | Feedback | Feedback | Feedback |
Beta 3 | Beta Codebase | Feedback | Feedback | Feedback |
Beta 4 | Beta Codebase | Beta Codebase | Feedback | Feedback |

- iOS beta apps must be built with GA version of Xcode
Google Android | Appdome Dev Plus / SRM | Appdome Dev | Appdome Ideal Partner | Appdome Ideal |

Beta 1 | Feedback | |||
Beta 2 | Feedback | Feedback | Feedback | Feedback |
Beta 3 | Beta Codebase | Feedback | Feedback | Feedback |

Appdome encourages Appdome DEV PLUS / SRM and Appdome DEV customers to test and provide feedback to Appdome as early as practical.
Note: Appdome also encourages customers not to try and preemptively release beta OS versions of their apps too far in advance of the release date of the GA version of Android and iOS released by the mobile OS vendor. Mobile operating systems can change significantly in the final weeks of the release cycle of each new operating system.
All customers using Appdome’s no code Secure SDK Delivery™ service that have not otherwise purchased an Appdome-DEV or higher license from Appdome, are included in the account class Ideal-Partner. For these customers, we invite you to begin your testing based on the charts above. Please note, the availability of an Android and/or iOS compatible SDK may be required from the SDK vendor.
New mobile OS releases are exciting times for everyone. Appdome looks forward to working with its customers on each release cycle!
