Testing Anti Remote Desktop Control for iOS in Zoom
This Knowledge Base article provides instructions for testing Appdome’s Anti Remote Desktop Control protection in Zoom, on iOS devices.
Note:
The option of having remote control can only be explicitly given by the participant who is screen sharing with the Zoom desktop client. Therefore, a person who joins a meeting on an iPad or Android device cannot request remote control or give it. For details, see Zoom Support website.
Prerequisites
To test Anti Remote Desktop Control, you will need:
- One (1) iPhone device
- One (1) Macbook
- A mobile app (.IPA for iOS)
Performing the Actual Test
To perform the test:
- Build an app with Anti Remote Desktop Control and
Block Suspicious Accessibility, as seen below.
- Install the protected app on your iPhone.
- Install Zoom on your MacBook, by using the Zoom installation link on AppStore.
- Open Zoom on both your iPhone and your MacBook.
- Start a meeting from your iPhone.
- Join the meeting from your MacBook (you will need the Meeting ID and Passcode).
- On iPhone, tap Share and then select (tap) Screen.
- Tap Start Broadcast.
You should see the iPhone screen on your MacBook. - Open the protected app on your iPhone.
Anti-Remote Desktop Control should be triggered.
