How to Control Android and iOS Application Versions and Review the Release Information

Appdome is a no-code mobile security platform that allows users to add security features, like RASP, code obfuscation, data encryption, and more, as well as mobile threat, mobile fraud, anti-bot, and other SDKs and APIs to Android and iOS apps.

With Release Information service, organizational administrators, security, and other teams can validate which security feature has been added to Appdome’s secured app and associate between the secured application and the secured certificate.

Prerequisites to Control your Mobile App Version and Review the Release Information

In order to receive the release information, you’ll need the following:

When Building your app with Appdome you’ll find the troubleshooting section at the very bottom of the page.
1. Activate the “Add Release Info” toggle, then continue building your app.

2. After successfully securing your app using Appdome, there are several available options to complete your project, depending on your app lifecycle or workflow. These include:

Complete the app customization (optional) and signing.

3. Once you protected your app with appdome, you can download both the protected application and the Appdome’s secured certificate by clicking on the “Download My built App” button.

4. The secured certificate includes the following release information:

5. Associate and control your app release versions by comparing the release info from the Secured Certificate to the release information found within the app.
  • For Android Application – Appdome unique Build ID & Release version is added as a string in the strings.xml file (under the matching keys: appdomeBuildID & appdomeRelease)
  • For iOS Application – Appdome unique Build ID & Release version is added to main info.plist (under the matching keys: appdomeBuildID & appdomeRelease)
